As a brand, Wallet in Telegram prefers minimal copy, relying on clear messaging and CTAs, as well as expressive visuals. This left a smaller than usual working area for features, benefits and brand story. Strict compliance guidelines also shaped what we could and could not say.
The work
Communicating what Wallet in Telegram is was a fairly simple task, since the name is clearly descriptive. It occurred to me that we could carry this ease and simplicity into the main tagline —Your crypto wallet is already in Telegram.
This achieved several things. Firstly, it helped those who had previously stayed away from crypto through fear that setting up and managing a wallet would be complicated. We told them that their wallet is already in Telegram, thus eliminating a crucial roadblock of finding and downloading a wallet.
Secondly, we felt that this tagline lent veracity and authority to Wallet in Telegram. Rather than being a shady, third-party add-on, Wallet in Telegram is natively embedded, making it the obvious choice.
Thirdly, this tagline allowed us to both repeat the product name, and explain what it is: a crypto wallet.
